So, today I won 50 dollars on a lottery ticket! Funny thing is, I thought it was only a 5 dollar winner because I was super tired when I scratched it off. So when the clerk handed me a $50 bill I was super confused and said, "wait, this was a five dollar winner". Then he laughed and just showed me the slip and I think I said "WHOA SHIT! Kate, look, I just won 50 bucks!"

In other news, school is almost over for the semester and I have a job working at Kohl's in Rochester for the holidays. So I'll actually have some money to sink into Christmas presents, which is great because I was starting to think I'd have to sell some records.

This is from my final project in my PHOTO111 class, where I had to shoot a gallery of themed images. My theme being, "Flint: Apathy and Pride." This is the most powerful image I shot, I believe.

I've taken 600 pictures in the last two days, that's a lot of pictures. Most of them were taken at Mac's Bar on Friday when Murder by Death, William Elliott Whitmore and J. Roddy Walston and the Business all played.

What a badass show. Everyone needs to check all three of those bands/artists out because all three of them are equally amazing.

Then I took around 200 pictures in Flint today for a gallery of images that I need to turn in for my Photo 111 class. We had to have a theme for the gallery so I decided to go with Flint and show pride and apathy all in the same. Once I get on editing those I'm sure I'll post the full gallery.

These are two recent photos from me. I really want to go hiking in a beautiful place sometime and do all sorts of cool nature landscapes. Surprisingly, both these photos were taken in very urban areas. One was downtown Lansing and the other was taken in downtown Rochester.

Damn, there have been an awful lot of rumors and one sided stories going around lately. Last night I felt as if I was going to roll all over the ground laughing when Kate got off the phone and started telling me about her conversation.

So hey, just to clarify things, no one is popping depression meds. And the parents know about the current living situation. Just figured I'd clear a few things up in case you've "heard" things. Oh, and I'm really not that controlling son of a bitch that I may sound like.

Alright, let's move on. But really, just get fucked, dudes.

Espresso Royale is my 2nd home.

Today I managed to lock my keys in my car for the third time this September, what the fuck. I've walked all over Lansing today and now I'm just burned out and sore. Oh, the keys to my apartment are also locked in my car too, on the same key chain.

I went to a ton of shows this weekend, it was pretty cool, I haven't done that in a long time. I'm really starting to like Mac's Bar, especially when the attendance is kind of low and there isn't too much cigarette smoke floating around in the air.

I took a ton of pictures this weekend too, close to 2GB's worth. They were RAW though, so totally uncompressed. Still though, that's around 250 photos, maybe a few less, I'm not really sure. Mac's is super shitty to shoot at though, I hate the all black backdrop, it totally eats the flash up.

Last night I had a horrible dream that I was being lifted up by my neck and choked out by my math teacher from high school who used to tell me I had ADD. It was horrible. I haven't had a nightmare like that where I've woken up sweaty, scared and alone in a long time.

I keep trying to figure out why I had that dream, I keep wondering if I was actually choking in my sleep. Whatever happened, I hope never happens again because it was all too scary. All I really remember about the dream is being lifted up off my feet and barely sounding out "I can't breathe, I'm going to die!" It felt real to me too, in my dream it actually felt like I wasn't breathing at all.

...

Lately, I have been pretty lonely, it's a bummer. I'm turning into a town rat, the last 3 days all I've done is walk all over downtown Lansing by myself, with a camera on my back.





Random thought: I used to be able to get along with practically everyone, or at least be able to see good in most. But lately, I realize I DISLIKE a lot of people and I'm actually starting to become pretty open with it.

I dislike the way you talk.

I dislike your hobbies.

Maybe this is a bad thing? I probably pissed someone off last night, but I can't help it. I feel like I'm pretty good at determining who is shitty and who is not. I think this person is shitty because I know how they've treated you in the past. The whole time I've known you they have used their sharp tongue to hurt your feelings.

My prediction: You have more than they do now. They're going to be bowing down and kissing your feet soon.

What makes me say/think these things? I guess I've been thinking a lot more lately, and this has been on my mind. I have no reason as to why though, it came to me the other night and hasn't left though.

Uh oh, my 7" collection is starting to take over my 12" collection big time... I need to get some new LP's soon!

Yesterday I bought a Canon 40d, I'm so stoked to shoot it. By the time I got home last night and charged the battery and all that I was too tired to try it out, all I wanted to do was lay in bed. So hopefully tonight or tomorrow I will get the chance to shoot it and put some new images on Flickr.

These past few days have been really lonely... :/

July has been a really good month for me, actually, I think this whole summer has been good to me. Probably one of the best yet. But what makes July so cool is the crazy amount of vacations I've been going on. This Friday I'll be leaving for Hilton Head, South Carolina which means that will be my third vacation of the summer. Badass.

This time when I leave the post office better actually hold the mail!!! They were supposed to do it when I went to Drummond Island, but they forgot. So that means I had a record I ordered baking out in the heat for who knows how long, until my neighbor noticed the overflowing mail box.

Turns out, the record is warped now... Hmm, I wonder why???

If they can't get it right this time then I'm going to be extremely pissed, because I have some out of print/will be out of print soon stuff coming to me that I don't want to get messed up.

Now that I think of it, I didn't post any pictures from my Drummond Island vacation...

Unfortunately, I didn't really take that many pictures, which is kind of a bummer... I'm getting sick of my camera though, I need to get my new one. Hopefully I will have a brand new 40d with a badass wide or wide-ish angle lens in my hands in about 2 or 3 weeks!

This year is going to be the first year in five years that I haven't been to Warped Tour, maybe if it didn't seem like such a circus this year I would muster up the 30 dollars it costs for a ticket. Just maybe. Come to think of it, last year was a circus too, the only reason I was there was because I was playing.

The only bands playing this year that I give a shit about are Against Me! and the Bouncing Souls, the rest of the roster just includes tons of sass and lots of swooped hairdos. It's too bad.

This was the best party I have ever been to in my life. Probably one of the only parties I've actually ever enjoyed being at. Instead of sitting around a large group of beer guzzling frat "brothers" looking for something to "poke", I got to party around a large group of 'Zona guzzling friends who just wanted to bong 'Zona's and give each other high fives.

So on Sunday morning my hard drive decided to crash right after I uploaded probably some of the best photos of people I have ever taken. Seriously, they were so good!

Fortunately, Apple computers are super easy to maintain though so replacing the hard drive was very very easy. All I had to do was pop the battery out, unscrew three screws and pull the hard drive out and put a new one in, then format the hard drive (sounds hard but it was one click!).

I'm thinking about adding more RAM to this sucker eventually too, because if I do it myself then I can save a ton of money (I saved $150 doing this myself, Apple wanted $250 for the same size hard drive and installation). I ended up getting a 120GB hard drive for 90 dollars at IO Software on Miller Rd., a 40 GB upgrade.

Last night was pretty badass, the Borden Park fireworks in Rochester were a lot of fun. Minus the unisex bathrooms and having to wait in line for forty-five minutes for ice cream. It was good ice cream though.

The bon fire afterwards was an awesome time too, I love fires. I wish I still had a chimenea, I used to have a lot of fires on my back patio in the summer time when I lived in New Lothrop... Bummer.

Tomorrow night is the annual short shorts/no sleeves party, I'm pretty stoked for that. I still haven't figured out what I want to chop up though. It'll probably just end up being an old pair of Levi's that are too big for me and some oversized shirt, who knows though.
